About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Surgical Stepdown unit provides direct care to patients, focusing on achieving desired health outcomes through effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a collaborative environment and are dedicated to patient-centered care.

• Pay: $48/hour
• Location: Hackensack, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Part‑time, Night shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease‑specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop and coordinate a patient/family‑focused plan of care.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advanced bar‑scanning technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and document care accurately.

Education:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
• BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire

Experience:

• Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible
