HVAC Technician
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and components
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems
- Replace or repair worn or defective parts on equipment
- Ensure systems are operating efficiently and within manufacturer specifications
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients regarding system issues and solutions
- Journeyman level skills in troubleshooting and servicing HVAC Equipment.
- Service equipment to include recovering refrigerant, repairing leaks, replacing components, etc.
- Some smaller replacements may occur in-house.
- Proper usage of HVAC tools to include recovery machine, vacuum pump, manifold gauges, oxy-acetylene torches, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
- 2-year degree in air conditioning or similar field or at least 5-10 years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of various types of HVAC equipment to include split systems, air handlers, chillers, VRF, and pumps.
- EPA 608 Universal (CFC Certification) Required
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent AB Facility Services to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- Computer experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Trades Certifications/License a plus.
