Dispatch Supervisor needed for a leading final-mile client. Oversee routes, drivers, and daily delivery operations.

About the Role

Our client is a leading provider in the furniture delivery and final-mile logistics industry, operating multiple locations nationwide. Their mission is simple: to deliver a 5-Star Delivery Experience, every time. As they continue experiencing rapid growth, we are seeking a motivated Dispatch Supervisor to join their team and support smooth, efficient delivery operations.

Job Summary

The Dispatch Supervisor provides leadership and direction to delivery teams and independent contractors while managing day-to-day dispatch operations. This role ensures on-time deliveries, accurate documentation, and effective communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Customer Service and the Final Mile Manager to ensure customer satisfaction and timely deliveries
  • Communicate proactively about scheduling or delivery issues and implement solutions
  • Assign drivers, routes, and vehicles for daily operations
  • Guide delivery teams and contractors when customer or logistics challenges arise
  • Monitor daily exceptions such as late departures/arrivals, breakdowns, service delays, go-backs, damages, illnesses/injuries, and unplanned billing
  • Track driver assignments, route performance, and shipping data in operational systems
  • Organize and manage Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and driver documentation
  • Submit POD cover sheets to finance for processing
  • Review and respond to inbound/outbound emails and attached PODs
  • Perform additional duties as required
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of logistics/dispatch experience
  • Knowledge of transportation policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Strong relationship-building skills with staff, contractors, and customers
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and logistics/operational systems
  • Ability to manage confidential customer information
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a high-volume, high-pressure environment
