Railroad Operations Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and accomplished Railroad Operations Coordinator for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), a large-scale rail project aimed at improving capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on‑site verification of all construction materials to confirm compliance with approved design documents, technical specifications, and established quality requirements.
  • Manage and oversee contract‑required materials testing activities, including coordination with independent off‑site laboratories and review of resulting data.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of materials inspections, testing outcomes, and approval or rejection determinations in an organized, traceable format.
  • Apply and support the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) and associated QA/QC procedures, ensuring alignment with contractual and project‑specific requirements.
  • Analyze test results and contractor records to ensure testing logs are current, non‑conformances are properly recorded and resolved, quality reports are prepared, and all materials are fully documented for project close‑out and final acceptance.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in railroad operations, including safety compliance and labor coordination.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex interactions between construction needs and existing rail operations.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to act as the primary liaison between multiple stakeholders and freight rail operators.
  • Experience in developing and managing schedules for track access, work windows, and rail service interruptions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Amtrak and freight rail logistics to provide technical guidance on project activities.
