Special Education Teacher

Role Description This is a long-term leave, ICRS Special Education Teacher role located in Hackettstown, NJ. The Special Education Teacher will collaborate with 7th and 8th grade General Education co-teachers to design and deliver individualized instruction for learners with a range of disabilities, aligned with IEP goals and state standards. Daily responsibilities include planning and adapting lessons, implementing accommodations and modifications, collecting data on student progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.

This position is expected to run from the end of August 2026 until March 2027.

Qualifications

• Valid NJ teaching certification in Special Education.
• Knowledge of disabilities and experience working with learners who have diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Demonstrated teaching and instructional skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and data-driven decision-making.
• Experience or strong interest in teaching at the middle school level, with understanding of adolescent development.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and support staff in a professional, respectful manner.
• Ability to use educational technology and digital tools to support instruction and documentation.
• Commitment to inclusive education, cultural responsiveness, and continuous professional learning.
