The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison responsible for delivering TD’s brand promise by providing consultative advice and financial expertise to help customers meet their banking needs. The role emphasizes building strong relationships, recommending appropriate TD solutions, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities- Establish and nurture customer relationships through active listening and product knowledge.
- Recommend TD products and services that align with customer needs and highlight benefits.
- Use CRM tools to proactively identify customer solutions and engage in outbound sales activities.
- Resolve customer issues and errors, escalating when necessary.
- Participate in customer outreach, loan product conversations, and application intake.
- Maintain active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
- Complete teller training upon hire and perform teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and transfers.
- Adhere to operational policies, risk controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, Patriot Act).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer-facing or sales experience.
- Preferred teller experience.
- Ability to complete teller training upon hire.
- Demonstrated communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Notary License preferred.
- Must be eligible for NMLS registration.
Customer Accountabilities: Deliver legendary customer experience by providing consultative support, advocating for customers, and offering proactive insights.
Shareholder Accountabilities: Ensure compliance with operational activities, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements, and support operational excellence.
Employee/Team Accountabilities: Participate fully as a team member, support a positive work environment, continuously develop skills, and adhere to TD’s code of conduct.
OCC LanguagePosition falls within the definition of Loan Originator under Regulation Z and the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act). Must be eligible for NMLS registration and comply with all regulatory requirements.
Physical RequirementsStandard office equipment operation, frequent sitting and standing, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs., and ability to perform multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
