Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping)

Atlantic Health is seeking a Per Diem Environmental Aide I for the Environmental Services Department at Hackettstown Medical Center. The position requires variable hours, including alternate weekends. Starting hourly rate is $21.21 per hour. This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teen hiring initiative for specific shifts.

• Perform general cleaning: empty trash, dust high and low surfaces, mop floors, and sanitize all furniture in inpatient rooms.
• Clean patient bathrooms, commodes, and discard debris.
• Replace soiled linen with fresh linen in patient rooms.
• Act as an EVS Aide at Union Campus as needed.
• Clean bodily fluids according to standard procedures.

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent required, or must obtain within one year of employment.
• Must read, write, and speak English to provide a safe environment for patients.
• Solid work history a must.
• Must meet fit testing requirements.
  
  Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older. Candidates 16–17 years old must complete the NJA
  300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers before hire; a valid working paper is required for 16 or 17‑year‑olds.

• Preferred prior experience in housekeeping in a hospital, institutional setting, or related field.
• Preferred floor‑care experience.
• 1–2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related area preferred.
