Dietitian- Hackettstown Medical Center-Per Diem

Job Description

Performs the clinical nutrition activities in patient care areas to ensure optimal nutritional care and education of patients in accordance with established standards of care, compliance with The Joint Commission, state standards, and other regulatory requirements. Supports medical and nursing staff to optimize nutrition care through evidence-based practices. The ideal candidate must have a CNSC credential.

• Assess nutrition status of patients using biochemical, anthropometric, physical and dietary data.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and/or family members.
• Maintain quality assurance and evaluate compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and state/federal guidelines.
• Develop and participate in educational sessions for staff to improve nutritional knowledge and patient care.
• Maintain accurate records to meet regulatory agency guidelines and assist in statistical analysis of data and action plans for performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in department PI projects and clinical nutrition programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
• CNSC Credential.

• Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
• 2-3 years of experience in acute care clinical nutrition or relevant area.
