About the Role

The Lifestyle & Hospitality Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in care settings by facilitating engaging and meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities. This position focuses on promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being through creative programming and personalized support. The Life Enrichment Assistant collaborates closely with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to assess needs and preferences, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible.

By fostering a positive and supportive environment, the assistant helps individuals maintain independence and a sense of purpose. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the holistic care approach, enriching daily experiences and improving overall satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with elderly, disabled, or special needs populations in a care or community setting.
  • Basic knowledge of recreational therapy principles or life enrichment programming.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in recreational therapy, life enrichment, or related field.
  • Experience with activity planning software or digital engagement tools.
  • Training in first aid and CPR.
  • Background in psychology, social work, or gerontology.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt activities for individuals with cognitive or physical impairments.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents or clients.
  • Assist in assessing individual needs and preferences to tailor activities that promote engagement and well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and volunteers to coordinate events and ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and progress, providing feedback to the care team to inform ongoing programming.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages socialization and fosters community among participants.
