ARC Sales Production Associate

Overview

Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships. Assist, as required, with store operations. Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner. Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy. Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization. Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”

• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.
• Be well-versed in and comply with, Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
• Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.
• Comply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.

• Rag out and stock merchandise; sort, price, and display merchandise by department and category; maintain color coding.
• Restock fitting room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code.
• Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner.
• Sort and process garments and other items to meet department quotas (e.g., minimum garment sorting and ticketing targets by hour).
• Hang, ticket, and price merchandise on rolling racks by department and category; ensure proper hanger type.
• Assist with moving donations to sorting areas and assist with hanging merchandise as needed.
• Assist with running clothing racks and maintain orderly displays.
• Maintain merchandise displays as directed and ensure merchandise is processed according to policy.
• Handle donations with care and safeguard donated materials and equipment.

• Comply with all cash handling and security standards related to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
• Maintain merchandise displays and restock as needed.
• Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner.

• Sort minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department.
• Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed and assist with hanging merchandise.
• Assist running clothing racks as needed.

• Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department, on the correct hanger type, and by category in an 8 hour period.
• Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed and assist sorting clothing as needed.
• Assist running clothing racks as needed.

• Price a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality and condition of each piece.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of name brand merchandise and value.
• Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed and assist ticketing merchandise as needed.
• Assist with running clothing racks as needed.

• Place a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category and color order.
• Straighten and maintain the clothing racks of the departments as assigned.
• Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Assist hanging merchandise as needed.

• Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
• Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
• Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
• Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
