Accounting Manager - Construction

Compensation: Up to $100,000 + Potential Bonus

A well‑established construction company in the Hagerstown area is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and support continued company growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands‑on accounting and process improvement within a collaborative environment.

• Manage full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Oversee job costing, WIP schedules, and project financials
• Partner with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and timely financial updates
• Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and procedures
• Prepare financial statements and assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Support year‑end audit and coordinate with external accountants as needed
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and develop reporting tools

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction or another project‑based environment
• Strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, and full‑cycle accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to collaborate with field and office teams
