The Accountant will support the accounting and finance functions for one or more manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, payroll processing, accounts payable, and financial reporting support. This is a newly created position offering strong long-term growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly close activities for assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review inventory transactions and analyze variances.
- Process weekly payroll through ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll platforms.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, three-way matching, approvals, and payment runs.
- Maintain accurate vendor invoice records within the ERP system.
- Assist with year-end close and external audit support.
- Perform cash application, pricing updates, and general ledger activities.
- Support process improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Provide accounting support to additional facilities as needed.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookups.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Experience with ERP systems and general ledger accounting.
- Payroll processing experience using ADP, Paychex, or similar systems.
- Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience.
- Inventory accounting and variance analysis experience.
- Full-time, on-site role.
- Minimal travel required.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
