Administrative Assistant I
- ExtendED Learning Program
The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative and clerical support for the extending learning/evening program at the InnovatED Learning Center. The position is responsible for processing and maintaining accurate student records, responding to inquiries, supporting communication and program operations, and assisting with administrative processes to ensure the effective operation of the program.
- Location: InnovatED Learning Center (School Year Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High)
- Compensation: Grade 6 Step 1 with a starting hourly rate of $19.26. Potential future earnings for this position on the ESP Salary Scale are $19.26 - $34.84
- Schedule: 4 Hours/Day; 2:00pm-6:00pm (Mon-Thu) and 12:00-4:00pm (Friday)
- Education:Must be at least 18 years old;
Must hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent - Experience: Three (3) years of successful experience in administrative assistance, secretarial work, or office management.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) as well as databases, student information systems, and other electronic systems.
- Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, families, community agencies, and the public.

- Associate degree in Business Administration, Education, Office Management, or a related field.
- Experience working in a public school system or educational setting.
- Experience working with student information systems or other school-based databases.
- Collect, organize, maintain, and disseminate information and records related to the extended learning/evening program.
- Maintain confidential student, personnel, and departmental records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board policies.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, students, families, community agencies, and the public in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Utilize department software, student information systems, databases, and electronic communication platforms to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, schedules, and other administrative documents as needed.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the principal and program staff.
- Assist with registration, enrollment, attendance, documentation, and other administrative processes associated with the extended learning program.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for each school year and support program projects and initiatives.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper files and ensure information is readily accessible to authorized personnel.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned. This position may be required to provide clerical/administrative support at Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High School.
