How This Role Contributes To The Y’s MissionAs a Youth Specialist for the Before & After School Enrichment program, you will participate in facilitating activities for school‑aged children that foster overall character building. You will assist in keeping the health and welfare of all children in mind at all times. Providing enrichment activities to youth and peace of mind to their parents and guardians by knowing their children are safe while they are at work.

- An interest in the well‑being of school‑age children, enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment, and a good spirit.
- The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, school administration, and other Y associates.
- The ability to be flexible and work at multiple locations.
- The ability to work between the hours of 7 am – 6 pm.
- The ability to work up to morning or afternoon shifts.
All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates reporting of suspected mistreatment. Associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
