We are seeking skilled Mass Excavator, GPS Dozer, Scraper, and Grader Operators to our team for work on heavy site construction projects in the Hagerstown, Frederick, Winchester, and surrounding areas. These roles involve high‑production digging, trenching, site preparation, and grading, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and proper equipment maintenance. The GPS Dozer role also involves using grade‑control systems to help meet project specs.
We’re looking for experienced operators who are dependable and comfortable working on a variety of job sites. Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
- Operate large excavators to dig, load trucks, trench, bulk excavate, and shape terrain according to project plans.
- Read and follow grade stakes, cut/fill maps, and site plans to achieve required depths and slopes.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues.
- Work closely with ground crews, dozer operators, and site supervisors to coordinate material movement.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all site safety protocols.
- Operate GPSequipped dozers to achieve accurate grading, slopes, and elevations according to digital models.
- Interpret GPS screens, grade stakes, and site plans to maintain correct grade.
- Place, cut, and spread material efficiently across fills, pads, roads, or slopes.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance (fluids, lubrication, wear checks).
- Document daily work, including equipment logs and progress notes.
- Communicate with foremen, surveyors, and other operators to coordinate production.
- Operates equipment in compliance with Kinsley’s safety policies and procedures.
- Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of all aspects of construction.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

- Previous equipment operating experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow basic plans, drawings, and grade information.
- Experience with equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, or scrapers is a plus.
- Familiarity with GPS or machine control systems is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of grading, excavation, and job site safety practices.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment and keeping tools in good condition.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted hours as needed.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical with a drug and alcohol test.
