Percussion Teacher

Music & Arts is seeking a Percussion Teacher to provide private and small-group lessons in our retail lesson studio. You will teach drum set and concert percussion fundamentals, develop lesson plans, and prepare students for school ensembles, auditions, and performances. Partner with parents, school directors, and store staff to support student progress and retention. Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

This role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities to build a private studio, and the chance to support music education within a mission-driven retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small-group percussion and drum set lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop individualized lesson plans and curriculum aligned with student goals and school ensemble needs
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and school band/orchestra directors on progress
• Collaborate with store staff to schedule lessons and support student retention
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and progress notes
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
• Advise students and parents on instruments, accessories, and practice habits
• Uphold Music & Arts teaching standards and studio policies
• Participate in occasional in-store events, recitals, and community outreach
