The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking a Staff Engineer Systems Architect to join our team and test development activities for superconducting electronics. This role involves developing automated testing procedures, documenting test requirements, collaborating with a team of engineers and physicists to advance high-performance computing systems.
What You’ll get to Do:- Lead and support test and test development activities for superconducting electronics development.
- Develop automated testing procedures for the characterization and validation of fabrication methods in superconducting devices.
- Support the current and future development of test platforms within function, cost, and schedule constraints.
- Document and implement test requirements and procedures.
- Review test plans for accuracy and completeness.
- Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements.
- This position requires work on site located at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum, MD.
- Design and develop system architectures, and define key capabilities and performance requirements.
- Define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.
- Develop thorough definition of system external interfaces.
- Define system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance with customer.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze functional and non-functional requirements specific to AWG, Oscilloscope, and Network Analyzer applications.
- Collaborate with domain experts to ensure that the hardware meets the technical requirements for signal generation, analysis, and measurement.
- Ensure that the hardware architecture supports responsive and real-time user interactions.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in hardware systems, ensuring that the instruments operate with minimal latency and high throughput.
- Act as a technical liaison between software development teams, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Systems architects will drive program goals and strategies and build a system that aligns to the organization.
