Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Inspector II to perform detailed inspections on aircraft, systems, equipment, and components to ensure full compliance with airworthiness standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer specifications. This role requires strong technical judgment, a deep understanding of inspection processes, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of aircraft and aircraft components to verify conformance to FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Identify any deviations or non-conformities affecting airworthiness and report/document findings.
- Perform in-process inspections within the authority of the employee's FAA certificate.
- Ensure all inspection work complies with established procedures, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Review maintenance records, work orders, and technical data as needed.
- Support the safe operation of aircraft by flagging hazards, defects, and quality issues during inspection processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure corrective actions are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and repetitive hand/arm motion.
- Must have strong visual acuity for close, distance, depth, and color-differentiation tasks.
- Requires auditory ability to distinguish varying tones and volumes.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may involve exposure to:
- High/low temperatures and outdoor weather conditions
- Fumes, chemicals, and hazardous materials
- Loud noise environments
This role involves aviation-related duties and is considered safety-sensitive, including:
- Handling, inspecting, or working near hazardous materials
- Inspecting structures, vehicles, and equipment
- Operating or supervising heavy or potentially dangerous machinery
- Contributing to the safety/security of people, property, and aircraft
- Active and current FAA Airframe (A), Powerplant (P), or Repairman Certificate.
- Experience working with aircraft systems, parts, and components.
- Basic understanding of inspection, auditing, and quality control procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- High school diploma or GED + 2+ years of relevant aircraft inspection or maintenance experience.
- Higher education may substitute for experience.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
- Prior exposure to aviation maintenance inspection processes.
- Experience with in aerospace, aviation manufacturing, defense, or military aviation environments.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance (processing not required immediately).
- Must pass a DOT physical as part of the hiring process.
