** Intern*
* ** Project Planner
** for Summer, 2026. The position is based in
** Hagerstown, MD.
**** Objectives:
*** Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.
* Mentorship:
Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced production planning professionals.
* Assist Planning manager and team with Planning, analysis and other procedural improvements.
* Participate in the execution of development projects.
* Support the development and integration of documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy within the department and the organization.
* Participate in providing project status updates as required.
* Works under close supervision of the Integrated Planning Manager and Planning Lead.
** Accountabilities
* ** Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Coordinate meetings and facilitate effective communication among project team members.
* Prepare or file documents related to the project.
* Collect and collate data to track performance.
* Conduct research and assist in preparing written documents.
* Analytical

Skills:

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret production data and provide actionable insights.
* Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work with complex data and ensure precision in reporting.

** Required Skills/Knowledge:

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Junior or Senior standing or enrolled in a Master’s program.
* Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite.

* Education:

*** Current Engineering or Business student at a 4-year university with a
** graduation date between December, 2026 and December, 2027.
** In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
