As an Electrical Engineer I, you will be involved in the initial phases of research, design, and development of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will assist in the design of integrated electrical/electronic systems, contributing to various stages of the product lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical/electronic systems.
- In some applications, develop circuit card assemblies.
- Implement electrical wiring design practices.
- Conduct testing and validation of electronic systems and components.
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits.
- Develop and document technical designs, test plans, and results.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure product requirements are met.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role; higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
- Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.
- Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
- Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements.
- Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts.
- Understanding of an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
- Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.
- Understanding of EME to include EMC and EMI.
- Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
- Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.
- Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs.
- Applying systematic and logical problem‑solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues.
- Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
- Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
- Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $74,581.13 – $
