Job Overview
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is developing advanced aircraft and Unmanned Air System (UAS) ground control stations for defense customers. The Skunk Works division seeks a Systems Field Engineer to support installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration management and mission operations of UAS GCS.
Responsibilities- Provide technical services and guidance on installation, upgrades, and maintenance of UAS Ground Control Stations (GCS).
- Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot products, and modify systems to meet customer requirements.
- Deliver training to customers and serve as a key member of the technical team overseeing mission‑system operations.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test mission‑system equipment on airborne platforms, including building and installing electrical and mechanical components, cable assemblies, computer systems, and voice/data communication devices.
- Organize and manage prototype development areas and use specialized test equipment to verify system functionality.
- Collaborate with Hardware, Platform, Software Engineering, and Integration/Test teams to develop flexible test facilities and support deployment of fixed and deployable systems.
- Lead maintenance, upgrade, and build‑up activities on legacy and new systems, coordinating local efforts and resolving problems promptly.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience in Ground System Engineering, Administration, or IT.
- Security+ certification and U.S. citizenship required.
- DOD Top Secret clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with UAV technology, network and system administration (Cisco, Juniper, Linux, RHEL, Windows, Windows Server, ESXi).
- Knowledge of aircraft modification, avionics integration, technical report writing, and support equipment maintenance.
- Experience with integrated logistics support and Linux/Unix administration.
- Willingness to work any shift, travel extensively, and work onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility.

Annual base salary range for this position varies by state: $89,300 - $157,550. Additional incentive‑plan eligibility and other compensation details apply.
