Systems Analyst – Secret Clearance | Patuxent River, MD

Pay range: $20.19 to $43.27 per hour.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform PITCO (Pre‑Installation Test Check‑Out), POST (Power on Self‑Test) & FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, implement, test, and evaluate solutions to customer requirements, including power analysis and site preparation.
  • Assess hardware requirements, communications systems, cameras, and computer systems.
  • Develop architecture for sensor systems supporting Department of Defense ranges and multidomain awareness in remote international locations under extreme conditions.
  • Provide technical and engineering support services across electronic/computer equipment, performing on‑site repair, testing, installations, and training.
  • Assist senior analysts in developing work plans to ensure all equipment is tested and operational before scheduled use.
  • Perform installation of AIS receivers, radars, ADS‑B receivers, surveillance cameras, VHF/HF/microwave/satellite communications, domain awareness systems, generators, renewable energy systems, routers, networks, encryption and cross‑domain solutions.
  • Conduct tower and building work for sensor systems, potentially using heavy equipment for site preparation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot communications, radar, avionics, or mission systems equipment.
  • Support system testing and evaluation in laboratory and field environments.
  • Maintain technical documentation per government and program requirements.
  • Configure hardware and software according to client specifications, ensuring functional compliance before deployment.
  • Install and test hardware components such as servers, routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Execute racking of equipment in server rooms following client diagrams.
  • Organize power cables and network cabling per cable management plans.
  • Label all hardware devices, cables, and power supplies to adhere to labeling schemas.
  • Record hardware configurations, serial numbers, and asset tags in tracking systems.
  • Run diagnostic and performance tests to confirm benchmarks and operational standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and less experienced technicians.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: BA/BS in engineering, computer science or related field; or 6 years of relevant experience substituting for a BA/BS; or an associate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience substituting for a BA/BS.
  • Technical Expertise: 3–10 years of experience developing system architecture for sensor systems; remote location experience; hardware and software experience with multi‑domain awareness systems; general computer system and network administration; proficiency in troubleshooting VHF/HF communications, video, radars, AIS, ADS‑B, microwave, and satellite systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Visio).
  • Clearance: Current and active DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Competent Climber Certification within 90 days of hire.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 40% travel; OCONUS by motor vehicle or air; locations include Africa and Middle East.
  • Active passport required for OCONUS travel.
