Position: Lead Engineering Manager (local to DC metro)

Job Description

Lead Engineering Manager delivering simple, modern solutions to complex problems as part of GDIT’s PIVOT-I effort. You will tailor cutting‑edge solutions to meet unique client requirements and prioritize end‑user experience while supporting teams that deliver cloud‑based and on‑premises products for government civilians.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a high‑performing team of infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity engineers.
  • Work daily with teams to modernize and simplify the processes and tools used to provision, deliver, manage, and monitor services.
  • Review project plans and engineering solutions to ensure integration of the latest tools and techniques.
  • Educate teams on the adoption of automation practices and tooling, and support those practices.
  • Work directly with the customer to identify new problems and present innovative solutions.
  • Identify and implement improvements to secure build, deploy, and monitor endpoints.
  • Provide insight and guidance for preparation and maintenance of all documentation related to engineering projects.
  • Perform continual maintenance and create solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems for security and systems monitoring tools.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree and 8+ years of experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft O365, Azure Active Directory, and the Microsoft messaging suite.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Background working within Zero‑Trust Architectures.
  • Experience delivering end‑user computing, including CM, lifecycle management, security, monitoring, and patching.
  • Familiarity with sections 508 and 504 accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and compliance testing.
  • Understanding of NIST requirements, auditing, and governance.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain requisite security clearance.
  • Must be local to the DC metro area; position can be largely remote.
