Avionics Technician
Zachery Piper Solutions is seeking an Avionics Technician to support a high-visibility aerospace and defense program in Hagerstown, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering and aviation services company specializing in aircraft modifications, airborne systems testing, ISR support, and mission-critical government programs. The Avionics Technician will play a vital role in ensuring aircraft electrical and avionics systems are expertly installed, maintained, inspected, and repaired, directly contributing to flight readiness, engineering integration, and customer mission success.
This position requires a Secret Clearance to be considered.
Responsibilities of the Avionics Technician include:
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulations
- Perform wire harness fabrication, routing, termination, and installation
- Conduct RF system installations, power-on checks, and aircraft power runs
- Diagnose and repair electrical hardware issues across multiple aircraft platforms
- Support line operations, customer training aircraft, and remote field operations as needed
- Review and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
- Perform FAA-required inspections and maintain accurate, compliant maintenance records
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system modifications, design improvements, and integration activities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians
- Safely operate avionics test equipment, ground support equipment, and standard shop tools
Qualifications for the Avionics Technician include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on avionics experience
- Strong understanding of FAA regulatory requirements (IPM/ATA)
- Proficiency with avionics tools including wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, and electrical test equipment
- Deep knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems
- Active Secret Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass DOT/FAA drug screening
- Ability to obtain a passport for occasional travel
- Preferred Qualifications:
A&P Certificate - Experience supporting DoD or Army aviation programs
- Aircraft experience with Bombardier/Challenger or Beechcraft 300 platforms
- PMP or AMP certification (not required)

Compensation for the Avionics Technician includes:
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
