• Skill set:
• Vehicle Controls, Matlab/Simulink, CAN, J1939, System Engineering, Off-highway
• Responsibilities:
• Act as an interface between all disciplines of design / support engineering and software engineers to define required functionality of vehicle systems using Model Based Systems Engineering principles and approaches
• Understand desired vehicle functionality and subsequently transform the requests into functional software specifications
• Work with and direct software suppliers / engineers, communicating functional system requests via detailed documentation that follows functional operational guidelines across all products
• Ensure design compliance to various regulations and standards across multiple regions and markets
• Participate in validation / regression test of software
• Utilize Controller Area Network (CAN) tools, proprietary programming tools, bench fixtures and Hardware In Loop to assure design intent
• Interrogate source code when needed
• Assist in planning and direction of relevant activities through all phases of innovation and development
• Direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specification, and bills of material when necessary

• Working knowledge of Controller Area Networks (CAN) and related standards for vehicle communications, such as SAE J1939
• Experience with off-highway or automotive vehicles
• Working knowledge of model-based engineering tools
• Multi-faceted knowledge of vehicle electronic, hydraulic, and powertrain systems

• Working knowledge of programming languages
