Job Description
Pennoni is hiring a Staff Bridge Engineer for its Transportation Bridge Team located in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. The position is full‑time and direct.

• Perform structural analysis and/or design of bridges (highway & railroad), culverts, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures on a variety of projects, including bridge replacement/rehabilitation, highway improvement, and multidisciplinary projects for MDSHA, MDTA, DDOT, DelDOT, PennDOT, VDOT and other agencies.
• Execute NBIS bridge inspections in Maryland, DC, and surrounding states (with occasional domestic travel).
• Produce high‑quality technical writing for bridge inspection reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Structural Engineering).
• Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT).
• 4+ years of bridge inspection experience.
• Meet NBIS Topside Team Inspector requirements.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self‑leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team to meet client objectives.
• Occasional travel/overnight travel required.
• Experience with Micro Station or AutoCAD.

• Experience with structural analysis programs such as STAAD, LEAP Bridge, LEAP Concrete, AASHTOWare, BRR, BRASS, SAP/CSI.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Proven ability to learn and apply new skills while seeking opportunities to improve work products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
