DPP is seeking an Avionics Technician V for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Location:
Onsite in Hagerstown, MD
Duration: 12 months
Term: W2 contract
Work Authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance
Position summary:
- As an Avionics Technician V, you will serve as a subject matter expert in Aircraft ISR integrations and act as a strong mentor to junior technicians.
- This role will exhibit skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations.
- You’ll be responsible for overseeing and may teach installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components.
- This role will be responsible for maintenance of test equipment, tools, and manuals.
- This position demands hands-on proficiency with harness assembly and aircraft modification, including harness routing, connector termination, ring-out, and functional testing.
- Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience with terminating the following connector types:
- COAX
- CIR-MIL
- RJ-45 Network
- D-SUB
- Must have a high school diploma or GED and typically 15 or more years of relevant experience.
- A higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
- Must have own tools in good working order.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex, technical, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
- Proficiency in avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering and crimping techniques.
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pitot static equipment.
- Prior experience in a lead role.
- The ability to mentor, train, guide and inspect the work of subordinates.
- Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
- Experience with TRIAX, QUADRAX, Fiber-Optic assemblies, and El Ochito RF Connectors.
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
- Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
- Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
- Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
- Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
- Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
- Frequently exposed to loud noises.
- Safety Sensitive Position:
- Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
- Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.
- Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
- Performs aviation related duties.
- Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
