Position SummaryryThis position focuses on the design, development, and validation of engine installations and cooling systems for diesel-powered off-highway equipment. The successful candidate will work with the Powertrain Engineering team to develop cost effective designs that meet product requirements and support validation activities from concept through releas
Primary Responsibilities- ies Design and develop engine installation systems including:
Engine and hydraulic cooling packages, Exhaust aftertreatment system integration and tubing design, Fuel system integration, Engine isolation and mounting systems, Air cleaners and intake piping, Surge tanks and coolant plumb - ing Develop component and system design requirements that define functional, performance, durability, packaging, thermal, vibration, and validation expectatio
- ns.
Develop technical design requirements and engineering specifications for powertrain components and syste - ms.
Support cooling package development through:
Cooling fan selection, Heat rejection analysis, Review of CFD results and cooling system performance analyses, Packaging stud - ies Design engine mounting and isolation systems and verify that isolation performance meets design require men
- ts.
Use engineering analysis and test data to evaluate engine-mounted component structures and ensure durability and vibration requirements are m - et.
Prepare component and system validation plans, including vehicle test reques - ts.
Evaluate vehicle test data and prepare information for engine application documentati - on.
Support issue resolution during prototype builds and product validati - on.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including structures, hydraulics, controls, manufacturing, suppliers, and test engineeri - ng.
Create and maintain engineering documentation required to support design relea
se.
Desired Qualifications- ions Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fi
- ld.3+ years of experience with off-highway, agricultural, construction, mining, automotive, truck, or industrial equipm
- ent.
Experience with engine installation des - nts.
Experience evaluating cooling performance and validation test d - ata.
Experience with engine-mounted component design and packag - ing.
Working knowledge of CAD (Creo preferr - ed).Familiarity with CFD results and thermal analy
- sis.
Familiarity with vibration and durability validation is desira - ble.
Experience working with diesel engines in the 18–74 kW range is prefer
red.
