Salary Mid-Point: $115,000.
Location:
Fox Chapel, PA. Job Type: Permanent. IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Controller to serve as a strategic member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing financial direction, oversight, and accountability across the organization. The controller will be responsible for leading all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, payroll, billing, and cash flow management. This Controller ensures that all financial operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant, while fostering professional development within the accounting team and partnering with senior leadership to align financial strategy with company objectives.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on business risks, opportunities, financial strategy, and long-term planning.
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including contract billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and commercial funding.
- Lead onboarding, training, and cross-training initiatives for all accounting staff, ensuring team members are proficient across departmental functions and able to provide coverage as needed.
- Evaluate accounting team performance, set priorities, and implement development plans to drive professional growth and departmental effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, internal controls, and other financial standards.
- Review and approve financial policies and procedures to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Manage cash flow, monitor financial KPIs, and provide insights to optimize working capital and operational efficiency.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements, systems, and technologies to enhance workflow, reporting, and data accuracy.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, dashboards, and analyses, including forecasts, variance analysis, and budget performance.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex or unresolved financial, billing, or funding issues, providing guidance to accounting staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in contract billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, commercial funding, and financial reporting
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and evaluate high-performing teams
- Experience implementing process improvements, financial systems, and workflow optimizations
- Strategic thinker able to translate financial data into actionable business insights
