SMX is looking for a highly motivated VMware Systems Administrator with demonstrated experience to maintain the various systems. This position will provide onsite support at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland and requires a DoD Top Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
As the Systems Administrator, you will join a team of highly-driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Experience developing and maintaining scripts using Power Shell, Python, Ansible, and other technologies.
- Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.
- Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
- Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Deploy and maintain software applications.
- Troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.
- Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.
- Working knowledge of DoD IA practices, including STIGs, patching, backups, and ACAS scans.
- Clearance Required:
Top Secret- Secret required to start
- 3+ years of systems administration experience including VMware/vSphere Enterprise experience
- Experience providing deployment, configuration, and support for virtual machines and hosts
- Networking experience
- Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems

The proposed salary for this position is: $80,400—$134,000 USD
