Epic Special Education Staffing seeks a Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students for the school year, onsite or virtual. In this role, you will deliver accurate, age-appropriate ASL interpreting for classroom instruction, IEP meetings, and school activities so students who are deaf or hard of hearing can fully access their education. You'll collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school teams in a mission-driven, student-focused environment that values inclusion, flexibility, and work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time ASL interpreting for classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
  • Support communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing, peers, and school staff.
  • Interpret IEP meetings, assessments, and related student services sessions.
  • Adapt interpreting style to students' language levels and educational goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school teams to support student access.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation as required by school and district policies.
  • Use virtual platforms effectively for remote interpreting assignments when needed.
  • Follow professional ethics, cultural sensitivity, and legal guidelines (IDEA, ADA).
