Structural Technician ll

As a Structural Technician II, you will use your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part‑fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. You will be responsible for aligning parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and for measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.

You may also modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate changes into the structure.

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
• Frequently repeat the same hand, arm, and finger motions many times, requiring finger and hand dexterity.
• Frequently require vision abilities for close, distance, depth perception, and color distinction.
• Frequently require hearing abilities to discern tones and volumes. Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.

• Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
• Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
• Frequently exposed to loud noises.

• Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
• Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.
• Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
• Operates or supervises vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment, or machinery.

• US citizenship is a requirement.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
• Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
• Experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques, and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
• Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi‑locks.

• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA or U.S. Military.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
• A higher‑level degree may substitute for experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
