About the OpportunityWe’re partnered with a small, family‑owned manufacturing business serving the food and packaging market with printed paper and plastic materials. With a tight‑knit team and long‑standing customer relationships, the plant runs a steady weekday schedule and values people who take pride in doing work right the first time.
This Quality Tech / Inspector opening is due to a recent resignation and is the primary quality role on site. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, owns documentation and audit readiness, and is comfortable checking work press‑to‑press to ensure specifications and food‑safety standards are met.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the on‑site quality lead and documentation owner.
- Walk the production floor multiple times daily performing spot audits and quality checks.
- Review job jackets and compare specs to what’s running on presses and converting equipment.
- Verify print quality, labels, sizes, and finished palletized product.
- Support and maintain SQF and food‑safety documentation and programs.
- Prepare for and support annual SQF audits.
- Partner closely with plant and print leadership to address quality issues.
- Communicate findings clearly and call out nonconformances when needed.
- Floor-oriented and detail‑driven; you like seeing the work where it happens.
- Comfortable being the quality voice in the plant.
- Organized and confident with documentation and email communication.
- Willing to speak up and hold standards without being confrontational.
- Best suited for someone who enjoys a smaller team and direct access to leadership.
- Background in printing, packaging, or similar manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to judge print and production quality against specifications.
- ~3+ years of SQF (Safe Quality Food) experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting SQF or food‑safety audits.
- Comfortable reviewing specs, measurements, and production details.
- Able to learn plant processes quickly and stay hands‑on daily.
You are the primary quality presence in the facility, the person ensuring product meets spec and SQF standards before it reaches customers. The role has direct visibility with plant leadership and real ownership of the site’s quality and audit readiness. It’s a stable, weekday schedule in a people‑first, family‑run operation where your judgment and consistency make a visible difference.
