Hiring a Yard Worker in Hagerstown, MD
Join a fast-paced metal recycling operation as a General Production Worker, where you support the safe and efficient processing of scrap metal through hands-on general labor and production activities. You will work in an industrial outdoor environment, contributing to daily operations by sorting, cutting, loading, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Shift: 1st shift 7:30am-4:30pm
Pay Rate: $16-$17/hour to start

Responsibilities
- Perform general labor and production tasks in a metal recycling yard to support daily operations.
- Operate torch equipment to cut and break down scrap metal safely and efficiently for designated torch roles.
- Sort and separate metals by type and grade to ensure proper processing and recycling.
- Assist with loading and unloading scrap metal and other materials from trucks and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines at all times.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hagerstown, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
