Job SummaryThe primary goal of this position is to assist press operators with change overs and tear downs to improve efficiency in the Press Room.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Duties / Responsibilities- Adherence to Hub Labels safety rules and regulations, this includes wearing steel toed shoes and other PPE protection.
- Maintain quality standards in all performed tasks.
- Responsible for assisting press operators during change over on every press.
- Verify and organize all raw materials, tooling, inks, and plates are at press for the next job in line.
- Remove and replace raw materials, tooling, inks, ink trays, and plates from the press.
- Tear down the previous job recently completed on press.
- Participate in all Kaizen events and projects related to changeovers.
- Ability to mount plates both manually and using semi-automatic plate mounter.
- Train on covered presses in order to back up the press operators when they are not at their machines.
- Any other tasks that meet the company vision Honor Unite Believe as assigned by supervisor or any other manager.
- Participation in all HOP programs and events.
- Possess effective communication skills to positively interact with all departments.
- Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet job related deadlines.
- Must be willing to be self-empowered and suggest process improvements and problem solutions to management.
- Mathematical and analytical skills are required.
- Ability to read work orders and instructions.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment &Physical Requirements
Specific sight requirements include close‑in, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and communicate.
The employee is frequently required to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
Must be able to manually lift some material and waste rolls, print cylinders, anilox rolls, and pack and stack boxes on skids, weighing up to 40 pounds.
Time is spent performing physical tasks in a manufacturing environment. The work environment is that of a manufacturing facility. Conditions change as the outdoor climate changes. There is moderate exposure to heat and cold, as well as exposure to moderate noise levels, moving equipment, and other general manufacturing hazards. Generally, work in an environmentally controlled room and will be also exposed to UV inks and additives, associated roll/plate cleaning solutions, and machine lubricating grease/oil.
