Registered Nurse - Night Shift (10:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Full Time, 32 hours per week. Monday – Friday with alternating weekends.
RN pay: $35.00 – $43.00 per hour plus generous shift differentials.
Provide the highest quality nursing care to residents in accordance with Fahrney‑Keedy’s policies and procedures, ensuring a safe, respectful, and healing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Make rounds at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Perform admission and re‑admission assessments.
- Consult with physicians to determine residents’ care, treatment, and rehabilitation plans.
- Create and maintain a warm, calm atmosphere for residents and families.
- Report all complaints, grievances, or incidents immediately.
- Receive and deliver nursing reports at shift change.
- Follow exposure control policies for blood/body fluids.
- Review resident records for orders, diets, medications, and plan of care.
- Review lab results and notify physicians of significant findings.
- Inform physicians of accidents, incidents, or changes in resident condition.
- Document all services accurately and timely.
- Obtain specimens (sputum, urine, stool) for lab testing as ordered.
- Monitor seriously ill residents and assess skin for breakdown.
- Implement prevention and treatment measures for skin breakdown.
- Ensure proper positioning, turning, and nutritional support for residents with decubitus ulcers.
- Supervise the direct care provided by CNAs and CMAs, ensuring adherence to care plans.
- Meet with residents and families as needed and communicate updates.
- Coordinate post‑mortem care and notify families of resident death.
- Administer medications orally, via feeding tube, IM, SC, or rectally as ordered.
- Prepare and document medication administration, including PRN doses.
- Verify resident identity before medication administration to prevent errors.
- Maintain adequate medication supplies and keep the medicine cart orderly.
- Order supplies, count narcotics accurately, and dispose of drugs per policy.
- Perform sterile/clean dressing changes, tube feedings, catheter changes, gastric tube care, and oxygen/respiratory treatments.
- Document all treatments, responses, and any adverse events.
- Complete electronic documentation of admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Ensure physicians sign and review progress notes, orders, and MAR/TAR/ADL logs.
- Record telephone orders accurately and transcribe them into resident charts.
- Report and investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational exposures.
- Assist with medication error reporting and incident documentation.
- Notify the scheduler of lateness or absence at least two hours in advance.
- Report broken equipment or supplies and complete online work orders as needed.
- Participate in safety, fire, and disaster preparedness drills.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary environment and observe infection control practices.
