Location of Position MDH Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, Maryland 21228

Main Purpose of Job

This supervisory role coordinates, directs, and supervises nursing care services by licensed and non‑licensed staff for patients on a twenty‑four hour basis. The position provides clinical teaching and administrative supervision for assigned personnel and may provide direct nursing care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.

Experience Three years as a Registered Nurse, including one year in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity and two years in the Medical or Psychiatric options.

Notes
  • Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field for one year of the required general experience.
  • Candidates may substitute a Master’s degree in Nursing or a health related field for two years of the required general experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioning officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications
  • Candidates must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a valid multi‑state license in declared primary states of residence.
  • Position duties may require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
  • Employees may be required to complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.

  • Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Maryland regulations.
