Meritus Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Wound Care team. This role supports outpatient wound care services, providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and management of complex wounds.
The Wound Care Nurse plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization’s wound care needs while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide treatment and management of acute, chronic, and complex wounds
- Support wound care needs across multiple departments within the medical center
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound care management, prevention, and healing strategies
- Monitor patient progress and provide follow-up care
- Assist with coordination of care and documentation in accordance with clinical standards
Education – ASN or higher required. BSN or higher preferred.
Experience – Minimum of three years of experience providing medical/surgical nursing care; experience in advanced wound care diagnoses, treatment methods and supplies.
Licensure/Certification – Current license to practice in the State of Maryland as an RN.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Effective communication and interpersonal skills; critical thinking and problem solving; effective time management; flexibility in work environment; intermediate computer/keyboard skills; ability to assume responsibilities beyond patient care; ability to interpret appropriate information to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/department’s policies and procedures.
