American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience and rotation across labor, triage, and postpartum mother-baby care.

• Work in an LDRP unit rotating between Labor, Triage, and Postpartum Mother-Baby care
• Postpartum assignment typically involves 3-4 couplets while Labor assignment involves 1-2 patients
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
• On-call responsibilities based on staffing needs, typically 16-20 hours within a 6 week schedule
• Alternative to call includes picking up one extra weekend shift and one extra weekday shift
• Floating required in rotation with staff according to facility policy and clinical experience
• Uses Epic EMR system

• Active RN license (MD state license or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN (Beginner required, Advanced or Intermediate preferred) or NCC accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery/LDRP nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• OB surgical recovery (C-section) experience highly preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred

• Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, triage, and postpartum mother-baby units
• Perform skills including IV therapy, fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and newborn care
• Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and provide postpartum recovery care
• Support breastfeeding, discharge teaching, and newborn assessments including APGAR scoring
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel bill rate
• RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
• Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to this facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
