American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level 2 Trauma Center night shift assignment requiring a compact RN license and at least one year of ED travel experience.
Details- Work in a 54-bed Emergency Department at a Level 2 Trauma Center
- High acuity patient population with an average of 220 patients per day in a fast-paced environment
- Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Expect to work some holidays and weekends
- Floating required in rotation with staff, based on clinical experience and unit needs
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active RN license (Compact or MD state license) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and medication administration
- Experience with CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patient care
- Experience in shock/trauma care including gunshot wounds
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Triage experience required
- Ortho trauma experience preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- 2-step PPD test and flu vaccine required with no exemptions
- Provide emergency nursing care in a Level 2 Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
- Treat a combined adult and pediatric emergency patient population
- Responsibilities include central line care/management and IV vasopressor administration
- May assist with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
- Assignment length is 20 weeks
- RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
- Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year assignment before returning as a traveler
- Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Non-billable orientation and annual training modules are required, averaging 4-8 hours
