Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and 1 year of ED travel experience.

Details
  • Work in a 54-bed Emergency Department seeing an average of 220 patients per day in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Level II Trauma Center treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
  • Care includes shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, CVA, cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and ortho trauma
  • Utilizes Epic EMR
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00
  • Some holiday and weekend coverage expected
  • Floating required in rotation with staff, based on clinical experience and unit policies
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in respiratory care, including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and vasopressor administration preferred
  • Central line care/management experience preferred
  • Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
  • 2-Step PPD and Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
  • Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
  • Perform triage duties as part of daily responsibilities
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
  • Travelers must have at least 1 year of travel experience prior to consideration
  • RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
  • Former travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days before returning to this facility
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Orientation includes completion of non-billable training modules averaging 4-8 hours, with annual completion required
