Job Overview
Precise Systems seeks a Biological Research Scientist to support our U.S. Army customer in Edgewood, Maryland.
Responsibilities- Supports day to day in‑vitro laboratory experimental tasks and procedures, including tissue culture (primary, eukaryotic, and differentiated lineages) and the formation of complex 3D organoid/spheroid/microphysiological systems (MPS) architectures (organ chip technologies) for toxicological assessments and research method development.
- Research efforts shall include determination of novel biomarkers of exposure, advanced morphological characterization, physiological response measurements, phenotypic changes, and molecular pathway elucidation for known and unknown toxicological compounds of interest.
- Operates independently with planning/executing assigned tasks, adapting methods and instrumentation to resolve problems, organizing data, analyzing data, interpreting results, determining conclusions, presenting data, authoring reports and manuscripts, and contributing to proposal writing.
- Interacts as part of an interdisciplinary team of technical staff and principal investigators.
- Maintains effective communication within the team, reporting completed tasks and needed tasks, and adapting to experimental changes in real time.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field.
- At least one year of research experience in an academic, government, or industry laboratory.
- Experience with advanced cellular biology and tissue culture techniques, including receptor‑based screens, microphysiological systems, stem cell differentiation, microscopy, and cell staining.
- Background in cell culture, tissue processing, and plate‑based assays.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other research teams.
- Ability to learn new techniques and expand abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Effective time‑management, self‑starter, and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently design and execute experiments; demonstrate critical thinking/problem solving.
- Ability to assist with other duties as assigned.
- Ability to complete additional training as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to customer‑related sensitivity.

- Compensation range: $68,952.32 to $ (annualized USD).
