Contract Chemist (6-Month) – Automotive R&D Hagerstown, MD
We're seeking a self-motivated, data-driven chemist to join an innovative R&D team on a 6-month contract within a fast-paced automotive environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical expertise and a passion for problem-solving and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments (ICP-OES, FTIR, TGA, GC, HPLC)
- Develop and validate test methods for quality and product performance
- Conduct experiments across spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry
- Support product development, QC, and manufacturing troubleshooting
- Manage lab data in LIMS and produce clear technical reports
- Ensure compliance with GLP, CGMP, and ISO 9001 standards
Well qualified candidates will bring:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry or related field
- Hands-on analytical and QC lab experience in manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and communication skills
- Experience with LIMS and regulatory standards
This position comes with:
- Pay of $35-$51/hr.
- ACA Compliant medical insurance, retention bonus and paid holidays
- A Monday through Friday schedule
