Position: Personal Care Specialist (Part Time) New Hagerstown, Maryland, United States

Overview

RISE Personal Care Specialists engage in one-on-one interactions with patients and/or customers from the time they enter the retail area until they check out and exit the store. Our ideal Personal Care Specialist candidate should be friendly and upbeat. Our Personal Care Specialists connect each patient and/or customer with the right product and method of consumption for their needs. The Person al Care Specialist is a master of our menu and knows how to help anyone who walks through the dispensary’s doors.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with and assist patients and/or customers in a customer-facing, intimate retail environment
  • Educate patients and/or customers on products, methods of consumption, and safety as part of patient interaction
  • Utilize product knowledge to recommend a safe and effective regimen; stay up to date on product knowledge
  • Promote a positive, communicative, patient- and/or customer-oriented work environment
  • Assist in verifying order deliveries for accuracy
  • Support the management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including daily activities, maintenance, and patient information for any reported issues and/or complaints
  • Ensure local and state cannabis regulations are properly enforced and upheld
  • Keep the sales floor stocked and ensure the store appearance is maintained and compliant
  • Maintain hard copy files as required
  • Follow security measures and safety compliance procedures

Complete duties at assigned workstations, as determined by management, during scheduled shifts including:

  • Front of House:
    Check In, Sales Floor, POS (Kiosk, In-Store, Pre-Order), Curbside, Roll Thru
  • Back of House:
    Fulfillment, Receiving, Replenishment, Inventory Counts
  • Maintenance:
    Uphold cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards throughout the dispensary
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • At least one year of customer service experience; preference for candidates with specialty, customer-facing retail experience
  • Meet scheduling and availability requirements (ability to work varying shifts including mornings, days, nights, and weekends)
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must pass all required background checks including state-specific cannabis employment requirements
  • Possess valid driver’s license or state
  • Must remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
  • Prior cannabis experience not required
Additional Requirements

Must have the ability to perform the following tasks for prolonged periods (up to the duration of a scheduled shift or workday)

  • Move about the dispensary to fulfill work assignments and assist patients and/or customers in various locations
  • Remain in a stationary position, if required
  • Converse and communicate with individuals and groups
  • Operate point of sale system, computer, and other office productivity machinery
  • Prepare patient and customer orders by moving and placing products
  • Inspect and receive detailed information for in-store or online orders or inquiries
  • Move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently
  • Position self to move inventory and materials in storage areas
Skills
  • Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
  • Desire to continuously learn about cannabis, cannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system; product knowledge and therapies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Understanding of applicable cannabis laws and safety regulations, local municipal codes, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback
  • Operate with professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information
Working Conditions
  • Patient and/or customer-facing environment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions
  • Exposure to cannabis and/or allergens present in the environment
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
