As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in the Greater Hagerstown, MD area, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an armed Armed Security Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols throughout the site/s that you’re assigned to. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site.
This position requires Act 235 qualification.

Part Time (Full Time positions MAY be available within 60 to 90 days)
Pay Rate: $33.56 / Hour

- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
- Greet guests and employees, assist where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, and secure classified information.
- Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate.
- Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary.
- Must be able and willing to travel up to an hour from the greater Hagerstown, MD area to cover multiple sites.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, each of the following:
- Federal and state firearms qualifications
- National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) certification
- OC, Baton and handcuffing certification
- Defensive tactics and de-escalation tactics certification
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of US military service
- Minimum of one (1) year full-time armed civilian law enforcement experience
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to pass a physical that includes: push-ups, sit-ups and a cardiovascular related stress test.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately; able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
- Problem solving skills; able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
- Attention to detail; able to compile, sort, and interpret data.
- Active listening skills; able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy.
