Position

Purpose:

The Cellular Technician implements all tower and RF related construction activities performed on all carrier wireless sites. This position does not require the climbing of towers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of antennas, radios and additional equipment on small cell towers, rooftops and other sites.
  • PIM, Sweep & Fiber testing.
  • Install hybrid trunks, fiber, over voltage protection, remote radios, wiring, fiber cleaning, and trouble shooting.
  • Installation of RF antenna system components, fiber, power, coax, connectors, grounding, mounts, weather proofing, hardware.
  • Must have the ability to read construction drawings, prepare for the build, gather materials and institute the proper installation techniques necessary.
  • Maintain inventory and materials on site for each project.
  • Identify and prepare necessary equipment for each project including cabling, ropes, blocks, harness and other gear for each task.
  • Provide all deliverables for closeout documentation for each project milestone to your foreman.
  • Maintain all certifications and training necessary for assigned work.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment daily.
  • Can work as part of a team with and interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have basic hand tools and appropriate outdoor clothing.

  • While performing the responsibilities of this job, you talk or hear. The job frequently requires you to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position performs tasks in outside weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in installation of RF antenna system components, fiber, power, coax, connectors, grounding, mounts, weather proofing, hardware.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record
  • Climbing experience and certifications preferred.
  • DC/AC electrical experience
  • Troubleshoot and correct mechanical or electrical connections
  • Ability to travel and work for extended periods in multiple locations.
