Job Description

The Equipment Operator plays a critical role in the efficient and safe operation of heavy machinery used in waste management, remediation, and administrative support services. This position is responsible for operating various types of equipment such as loaders, excavators, compactors, and trucks to facilitate the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials. The operator ensures that all equipment is maintained in optimal working condition and adheres to safety protocols to prevent accidents and environmental hazards.

By effectively managing equipment operations, the role contributes to maintaining clean, safe, and compliant work sites across diverse locations. Ultimately, the Equipment Operator supports the organization's mission to provide reliable and environmentally responsible waste management and remediation services throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, compactors, and trucks to perform waste collection, transportation, and site remediation tasks.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance to ensure equipment safety and functionality.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements to minimize risks to personnel, the public, and the environment.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to efficiently complete daily operational goals and respond to changing work conditions.
  • Document equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents or irregularities encountered during operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or relevant heavy equipment operator certification as required by state regulations.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment in waste management, construction, or related industries.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA safety training or specialized equipment operation licenses.
  • Experience working in environmental remediation or waste management sectors.
  • Familiarity with GPS and other technology used in equipment operation and site management.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
