Military Fellowship Program: Avionics Technician

Overview

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to offer up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for active‑duty service members transitioning to civilian careers.

As an Avionics Technician you will perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components and maintenance of test equipment.

• Perform avionics maintenance per FCC, FAA, and company regulations.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics components.
• Maintain test equipment, tools, and manuals.

• Currently serving on active duty and eligible for the DoD Skill Bridge Program.
• High school diploma or GED.
• A higher‑level degree may substitute for required education.
• Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
• Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
• Familiarity with avionics installation tooling.
• Experience with wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation.
• Experience with soldering and crimping techniques.

• Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL.
• Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment.
• Background in the aerospace and defense industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. military.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; may be required.

Estimated starting salary range: $22.95 – $31.56 per hour (equivalent to $47,600 – $66,400 annually). Salary may vary based on skills, experience, education, and geographic differential.
