Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring for a Permanent Full‑Time Material Handler in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Pay and Schedule- Hourly Pay: $21.00 per hour
- Overtime Pay: $31.50 per hour
- Shift premium: $1.50 when working third shift
- Schedule:
Third Shift Sunday–Thursday 10:00 pm – 6:00 am

- High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- At least 1 year of warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience (preferred)
- Valid Forklift Operator's License
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a diverse workplace
- Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance
- Initiative, accuracy even under pressure
- Physical: lift/push/pull up to 35 lb; stand for long periods
- Flexible to work various shifts
- Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor‑vehicle records check and road test; and/or background checks or badging for the assigned customer.
Responsibilities- Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Accurately pick, pack, audit, tote induct, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
- Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
- Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
