Position Overview

Ryder is hiring Temporary to Permanent Material Handlers in Hagerstown, Maryland. The role offers weekly pay and a career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $21.00 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $31.50 per hour
• Additional Pay: $1.00 per hour when assigned to third shift
• Schedule:
  
  2nd Shift – Monday to Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm; overtime as needed

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Process day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a good attendance record
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
• Physical capability: lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs, stand for long periods
• Ability to work using health and safety methods and flexible schedule across shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
